It is Saturday morning noon, you get up, the weather is good (yes, it can happen even here in Munich!) and the only thing you can think about is… getting ready for your weekly jogging fffoood (What else?!).But where to go for a nice breakfast? Munich doesn’t lack of awesome breakfast locations, but for our first post we decided to write about one of our little favourites: Tabula Rasa in the middle of Glockenbach.***The location: Tabula Rasa is well located in the middle of the trendy district Glockenbach, also known as the “Gay district”. You can find plenty of cool little shops, bars and restaurants, and if one day you are desperately looking for a leather mask (or any other SM accessories for that matter), you certainly won’t be disappointed.***The atmosphere: When you get to Tabula Rasa, you are immediately charmed by the cute guys sitting there little terrace – in summer a real treat… Flowers and colorful paper lanterns, wrought iron tables, trees shadows, quietness: the whole atmosphere brings a really nice feeling. Nearly paradise! Inside, the café is rather small, which brings a touch of coziness. No need to say that, in winter or on one of those rainy days, tables are particularly hard to get. Margarete who started the place in 2003 really managed to make you feel like you are at home. ***The photos: You can access all photos from our session at Tabula Rasa on our Flickr stream. Friend us! ***The fffoood: First little stress: no breakfast in the handwritten menu… I was already considering the cute guys a quiche or the tuna – homemade hummus plate (it’s noon anyway right?!), when the waitress kindly gave us the breakfast menu: 5 different breakfasts for less than 8€! Awesome! We decided to order 1 breakfast for both of us (lovers do that sometimes) with a rucola-parmesan omelet on top of that: after all, Brigitte Lahaie did say “it is better to start the day with something warm in your belly”. It turned out that all of that was more than enough for the both of us.The breakfast was composed of a really pretty basket full of several sorts of brötchen (i.e. little breads), a full plate of quality cheese (you can trust my French origins on that one!) and delicious charcuterie. It is also served with a soft-boiled egg perfectly cooked (this is, in my opinion, the sign that the cook has actually got a clue about breakfasts). And for the sweet tooth among us, we also got marmalade with butter. Coffees or hot drinks are not included, but the price is still really reasonable. The rucola-parmesan omelet was surely made with fresh ingredients, perfectly cooked as well, and really delicious!***The verdict: Lovely place, good food, fair price & portion, nice people… Tabula Rasa is in our opinion one of the best insider places in Munich: a real breakfast in Glückenbach! A last little advice: if you don’t go for breakfast, don’t miss the homemade cakes!***What the Sour One thought: Nothing to complain about this time, though one of the breads was a bit dry indeed. ***Finding Tabula Rasa: Holzstrasse 18, 80469 München 08923231871U-Bahn: Fraunhoferstraße or Sendlinger Tor View Larger MapTabula Rasa: Breakfast in GlockenbachFood78%Atmosphere87%Service77%Location85%Originality66%79%Overall ScoreReader Rating: (1 Vote)95%Leave a Reply Cancel Reply Connect with Enter your WordPress.com blog URL http://.wordpress.com ProceedYour email address will not be published.CommentName* Email* WebsiteSave my name, email, and website in this browser for the next time I comment.
